BEA Systems names Wally Massenburg VP of E&IS

BAE Systems has named Wally Massenburg vice president of readiness and sustainment for Electronics & Integrated Solutions (E&IS). Massenburg is responsible for developing the model and functionality to sustain systems used by U.S. and allied military forces through their total life cycle.

Massenburg previously served 38 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a vice admiral in 2007. He was most recently commander of the Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River, Maryland, where he led a 27,000-person team providing combat power for Navy and Marine Corps aviation teams. In addition, he was the chief operating officer of the Naval Aviation Enterprise, a cross-functional team of aviation stakeholders charged with achieving readiness at reduced cost.

 Massenburg holds a bachelor¡¯s degree in physics from Washington and Jefferson College, a master¡¯s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, and a master¡¯s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. He resides in Needham, Massachusetts.

 E&IS, with headquarters in Nashua, New Hampshire, designs, develops, produces, and supports electronic systems and subsystems for a broad range of military and commercial uses. The business employs more than 17,000 people in 16 U.S. states, the United Kingdom, and Israel
