The Consultant: A Role in Transition

As security & surveillance and IT continues to converge over the next few yearsand especially, as IP technology is gaining momentumit strikes me that there is a need to take a fresh look at the design requirements for the solutions of the future. This most certainly will mean that the knowledge base of the consultants will change, particularly as technology improvements and changes will require a much more fundamental approach to the concept of future proofing the solutions. In the following I shall debate and address some of the more important issues which I feel ought to be taken into account on a going forward basis.
