The new all-seater stadium with its new roof protecting all the seats, the new commercial center and ample underground parking makes it one of the most important and famous sporting venues worldwide. And from 2007 it will host Turin and Juventus football matches. The system was supplied by the Milanese CCTV specialist distributor; Videoline-TVCC srl, which since 1998 has been a partner and importer of Pelco and NVT products in Italy. The Installation was carried out by the Turin company Kopa Engineering who was supported throughout by Videoline¡¯s representative for Turin; LM Sicurezza.
The work was completed in two phases, the first at the end of 2005 in time for the Olympic celebrations and the second in August 2006, in time for the start of the Italian Football league matches. The images coming from 48 PTZ cameras (Pelco Esprit and Spectra III SE domes) and over 50 fixed Pelco Cameras are transported via UTP CAT5 using NVT transducers to a futuristic control room where a Pelco CM9770 matrix and a rack of DX8000 DVRs are installed. Complete control of the system over the IP network is guaranteed via 3 high performance Pelco VMX3000 workstations. Thanks to the VMX3000 site maps and the dedicated KBD-9760EU Pelco keyboards the operator has complete real-time control of the system, all the cameras, PTZ and fixed, video replay, back-up and live viewing from the banks of DX8000 DVRs. Due to the substantial installation problems that the site presented it was decided to employ NVT video transmission over CAT5 UTP cable. Kilometer long runs in multicore permitted Kopa engineering to overcome problems associated with inadequate cable ducting and high electrical interference guaranteeing high quality video feeds immune to electrostatic and radio interference.
