By synching with a DMP receiver, DMP panels avoid the risk of generating inaccurate time stamped openings, closings, trouble signals, and alarms during a seasonal time change, including the period of DST that has been moved forward from April to March.
¡°Our design saves DMP customers considerable time and cost,¡± said DMP VP, Product Quality Assurance, Marc Mills. ¡°DMP panels will continue to work accurately without customers having to download new software, replace PROMs or change programming in the panel.¡±
Control panel time can be adjusted via the DMP central station receiver manually or automatically. Multiple time zones can be programmed independently.
President Bush signed into law the Energy Policy Act, which extends Daylight Saving Time (DST) by four weeks, from the second Sunday of March through the first Sunday of November. Extended Daylight Saving Time began in March 2007. See below for the new "spring forward, fall back" dates for the next few years.
