On the one hand, the hardware platform developed by HeiTels in-house engineers is so powerful that recording and live image transmission is run in real-time at a rate of 25 fps per camera.  On the other hand, power consumption is so efficient that a cooling fan is no longer needed; therefore the CamServer cannot be heard while in operation.

All of HeiTels recording and transmission systems are powered by 12 V DC.  The device can therefore easily be integrated into vehicle projects and situations where emergency power supply back up is required.  These features not only favour the use of the CamServer 2 for general video monitoring applications, but also and in particular for covert monitoring.

CamServer 2 is equipped with an integrated 120 GB hard drive.  Thanks to the highly-efficient compression method developed by HeiTel, it is possible e.g. to receive uninterrupted continuous recording from both cameras at one fps for up to 4 months.
