Modular vehicle barriers to stop VBIEDs

Security Solutions International (SSI), a Homeland Security training source, has announced the launch of the Modular Vehicle Barrier to stop and immobilize a VBIED (Vehicle Borne IEDs).

The Modular Vehicle Barrier, MVB, a lightweight, portable vehicle stopper, is easily assembled and especially designed for quickly halting the momentum of an oncoming vehicle.  This is essential in the event of unexpected threats from terrorists, criminals and other unpredictable security threats.  It shifts the forward momentum of a vehicle downwards by fully stopping a 2.5 ton vehicle running at a medium speed almost instantaneously.
Effective on different terrains, its unique L-shaped units lock themselves on the vehicles chassis, body and wheels, rendering it immobile.  It can be assembled in less than five minutes without assembly tools, and positioned virtually anywhere.
"This distribution agreement will enable more widespread accessibility to stepping up the war on crime and terror," commented SSI President Henry Morgenstern.  "As the global leaders in security training and solutions, we are committed to curtailing further tragedies and providing the highest level possible of emergency preparedness for all possible eventualities."
"Today, police cars are used to barricade roads when carrying out high risk warrants, searches and raids.  Why use a US$40,000 dollar police car when the Modular Vehicle Barriers cost is negligible in comparison and is also more effective.  More importantly, DHS puts out severe alerts and no-one knows exactly what to do differently.  The barriers enable local authorities to show that targets have been hardened -- the best deterrent against terrorism," says Henry Morgenstern, President of SSI.
"Our products are developed in response to need, and the Modular Vehicle Barrier is a much-needed solution to the increasing number of suicide bombers ramming cars, buildings and other targets all over the world right down to criminal situations.  The Modular Vehicle Barrier is used in all types of locations, military units and by peacekeepers all over the world, including national monuments and executive protection."
