AuthenTec fingerprint sensor integrated into the Fuijitsu mini convertible notebook

AuthenTec, a leading provider of fingerprint sensor products and solutions, announced today that its fingerprint sensors are being integrated into the new Fujitsu LifeBook¢ç U810 mini convertible notebook. This Microsoft Windows Vista¢ç-enabled mini convertible notebook, available next month, is the latest in a growing number of notebooks that rely on AuthenTec sensors to provide Power of Touch¢çfeatures -- user security, personalization, convenience and navigation.

AuthenTecs popular AES2501B slide fingerprint sensor adds personal authentication to the LifeBook U810, the worlds smallest tablet convertible. The LifeBook U810 notebook combines go-anywhere portability with ease of use. AuthenTecs sensor greatly reduces the risk of compromised data in the event the mini notebook is lost, stolen or left unattended.

"The AuthenTec fingerprint sensor continues to be a key component in the suite of security features incorporated into Fujitsu mobile computers," said Paul Moore, senior director of mobile product marketing, Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation. "The highly mobile LifeBook U810 mini convertible notebook is the perfect candidate for the quick, easy and iron-clad security delivered by the AuthenTec fingerprint sensor. Not only can a users fingerprint swipe replace authentication; a single authentication can launch Windows, and replace various application logins."

"Fujitsu understands the importance that fingerprint sensor security and convenience brings to its new LifeBook U810 mini notebook, a portable and powerful convertible aimed at an ever-more-mobile workforce," said Tom Aebli, AuthenTecs director of PC Segment Marketing. "We are pleased that Fujitsu has once again recognized the Power of Touch that our fingerprint sensors can add to secure mobile computing. More and more manufacturers are recognizing the value AuthenTec sensors are bringing to mobile platforms."

AuthenTecs AES2501B combines advanced security and touch-powered features in a solution that is used in millions of biometric notebooks, tablets, desktops and PC peripherals worldwide. Every AuthenTec fingerprint sensor is based on the companys patented TruePrint¢ç technology, the only solution in production that reads below the surface of the skin to the live layer, where a persons true fingerprint resides. This unique subsurface approach enables AuthenTec sensors to read virtually every fingerprint, every time.
