Digital Identification Solutions AG acquires vps ID Systeme GmbH

vps ID Systeme GmbH becomes wholly-owned subsidiary of Digital Identification Solutions AG

Effective immediately, vps ID Systeme GmbH becomes a subsidiary of Digital Identification Solutions AG.  The international leader in identification solutions acquires 100% of the Ettlingen-based software company.  As a wholly owned subsidiary, vps will continue to operate in the market as a separate company.  Through this move, the two long-time partners expect significant synergies to be generated in research & development as well as in sales and marketing.
"For us, incorporation into the Digital Identification Solutions Group means
the acceleration of our companys growth strategy," explained Jurgen Konig, Managing Director and Partner of vps since the founding of the company in 1992.  "Under the umbrella of the Digital Identification Solutions Group we will be able to provide even greater support to our international customers and partners, strengthen our market share and expand our sales and marketing channels." Jurgen Konig will continue to head vps with its 35 employees at the company¡¯
s present location in Ettlingen, near Karlsruhe, Germany.
vps ID Systeme will become the seventh member of the globally operating
Digital Identification Solutions Group with its subsidiaries and support centers in Europe, Middle East, Asia, China, Mexico and the United States.  The purchase price is to remain confidential.

For many years, the software specialist vps has focused on JAVA, giving the
company a major advantage compared to other software providers.  This advantage has enabled vps to build up a major base of references in industry and government, including Siemens, BMW, RWE, the Ingersoll-Rand Group and DRV, just to mention a few.  Furthermore, the company is represented in numerous standards-setting bodies such as BitKom.
The development, project management and solution competence of vps is an
ideal complement to the turnkey solutions and global presence of the Digital Identification Solutions Group.  The co-operation will generate substantial synergies.  On one hand, the Digital Identification Solutions Group can now distribute its whole product portfolio through vps existing marketing channels.  On the other hand, vps can now benefit from the project management competence of the Digital Identification Solutions Group with its numerous international projects.  Furthermore the joint presence at trade fairs and corporate training sessions will result in significant savings in marketing
while strengthening the presence of the group at the same time.
Gerd Schaefer, CEO of Digital Identification Solutions AG, commented the
joining of forces of these expanding companies as follows: "This is one of the rare opportunities where 1 + 1 results in far more than 2.  Due to the projects which have been already implemented together and the long-term co-operation of both companies, it will be possible to integrate and expand much faster than if two strangers had joined forces.  We are very happy that our long-term partnership could be strengthened in this sustained way and that the build-up of Mr. Konig and his team can be further developed as part of the internationally operating Digital Identification Solutions Group."
