WCC partners with national biometric security project

Multi-modal fusion platform to be used for innovative biometric authentication service

WCC Smart Search & Match, a provider of high-performance search and match software, announced a strategic partnership with the renowned National Biometric Security Project (NBSP).  The NBSP is readying an innovative service to provide anonymous identity authentication to serve private enterprises and government organizations.  In this collaborative partnership, WCCs multi-modal biometric fusion platform will provide the core functionality for identity authentication.

Founded after 9/11 and based in Washington, D.C., the United States, the NBSP supports government and private sector organizations in their efforts to standardize, test, acquire and deploy biometric technology for the purposes of identity assurance.  WCC has partnered with NBSP to provide its signature technology, ELISE ID - The Platform for Multi-Modal Fusion, that delivers meaningful, ranked results in sub-second response time.  ELISE is capable of searching through traditional biographic data, as well as more advanced multiple biometrics, regardless of database size or search criteria.

"The NBSP is one of the real leaders in the biometrics industry and has an outstanding vision for anonymous identity authentication," said Peter Went, CEO of WCC.  "We are excited to collaborate with them and to provide a key technology component with the ELISE ID multi-modal fusion platform."

"The NBSP prides itself on offering sound guidance and services to organizations looking to protect the civil infrastructure, while also preserving individual privacy and civil liberties," said John E. Siedlarz, chairman and CEO of the NBSP.  "WCCs technology not only fits with our mission, its advanced biometric fusion capabilities are especially suited for our new anonymous recognition project."

The anonymous recognition services will be available in 2008 and will serve the financial services, health care, transportation, and travel industries as well as government organizations for which private, independent, 3rd party identity authentication are crucial considerations.
