The Port of Long Beach enhances security

City of Long Beach selects Adesta for port-wide security integration programs
Adesta is the systems integration partner of choice for the second busiest seaport in the United States.

Adesta, LLC, a systems integrator and project management company for communication networks and electronic security systems, has been awarded a multi-million dollar, 3-phase contract with the City of Long Beach of the United States to enhance security for the Port of Long Beach.  Phase 1 will be optimization of the existing system, and recommendations, implementation and commissioning of an integrated system.  Phase 2 encompasses development and implementation of a program for the integration of a scalable System Management Software Component, which will have the capability to manage a combination of control, data, communication and detection devices/systems.  Phase 3 will be development of a program for the implementation of a 5-year integration plan that will be linked to a multi-agency/regional communications and data network.  Adesta will work directly with Port Staff in a collaborative partnership approach to develop and implement long-term maritime domain awareness solutions.

Long Beach is the second busiest seaport in the United States and a major gateway for trade with Asia.  The Port has experienced phenomenal trade growth in recent years.  Cargo has nearly quadrupled over the past 15 years, and is projected to triple over the upcoming 15 years.  Therefore, top security is a dominant issue.  Adesta has the superior expertise as a systems integrator, and a vital awareness of the industry to help the Port maintain their current status and improve their future status in the global trade marketplace with long-term security solutions.

"Adesta is pleased to be able to bring our vast knowledge and experience to this premier port facility.  We are looking forward to significantly increasing the levels of security capabilities at the Port of Long Beach, therefore enhancing their ranking in the industry.  We are thrilled to be able to partner with the Port of Long Beach on this exciting project," said Bob Sommerfeld, President of Adesta.

"As one of the largest port facilities in the nation, we must choose our partners carefully to ensure optimal security," said Cosmo Peronne, Director of Security for the Port of Long Beach.  "Adesta has made it possible for the Port to meet all of our unique security integration needs with one company partner.  We feel weve made the right choice."
