Adesta, LLC, a systems integrator and project management company for communication networks and electronic security systems, has been awarded a US$2.86 million contract to construct a complete fiber optic infrastructure to sixty one district schools and school facilities in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the U.S.  The districts project will deploy new, dedicated, fiber optic laterals, connected directly to the City of Colorado Springs fiber optic ring networks.  These connections will provide the district with reliable, dedicated, high-capacity connection to all their facilities, while leveraging existing, city-owned backbone infrastructure.

Upon completion in January 2008, the network will provide enhanced educational services and equal educational access to district students.  Interaction in an efficient and cost-effective manner will be possible for students physically separated by location.  Advanced services enabled by the network include distance learning, video conferencing, high-speed Internet access, telephone voice services and data services.
