Pelco celebrates 20-year anniversary

On Friday, June 1, hundreds of Pelco employees braved the afternoon heat of Clovis, California, joining Pelco President and CEO David L. McDonald in celebrating the Pelco 20-Year Anniversary.

In 1987, a group of entrepreneur-minded employees walked away from corporate America and staked everything they had on a smaller, niche company called Pelco. Although founded in 1957 in Southern California, the company recognizes the beginning of the ¡°new¡± Pelco as June 1, 1987, when acquired by its current ownership group. These new owners were determined to create an exceptional place to work that also took exceptional care of its customers.
¡°The objective wasn¡¯t to become the biggest company in the industry,¡± McDonald said. ¡°The goal was to do it well, do it right, and be the best at what we do.¡±
Beginning with just a few products in 1987, including simple pan and tilt positioning units and camera enclosures, Pelco has grown to now offer more than 5,500 products ? the most complete video security product line in the world. From cameras and digital video recorders, to IP Solutions, the industry-leading Endura network-based system, and best-in-the industry Spectra dome, Pelco has the products necessary to create a complete video security solution.
Beyond innovation and technology, Pelco recognizes that its people are the most important asset. Pelco¡¯s past, present, and future success is the result of the contributions of its people, and Pelco¡¯s extreme focus on customer service will never lessen, said McDonald. ¡°It¡¯s Pelco¡¯s culture, our core strength, and the reason we are where we are today.¡±
¡°The best is still ahead and all of the things that have made us great will continue to promote our success in the future,¡± McDonald said. ¡°It¡¯s been an incredible 20 years.¡±
Respected as a major product innovator, Pelco, a privately held video security systems manufacturer, is the proven world leader in providing innovative products and technologies for the video security industry as well as an extremely high level of customer service. Headquartered in Clovis, California, Pelco is one of the largest employers in Central California and is the largest video security manufacturing complex in the world.
