Genetec integrates ATEME`s IP encoder into its Omnicast solution

Genetec announced that its IP video surveillance solution will support ATEME¡¯s IP VSIP 2 encoders.

Genetec chose the IP VSIP 2 encoder of ATEME due to its capacity to transmit data via IP networks including analogue video and for its excellence in video compression.  This ability in video compression translates directly into exceptional video quality even in the case of low bandwidth. ATEME, the world leader in MPEG4/H.264 video compression solutions offers those in the video security industry a range of complete solutions for all their video security needs.
Omnicast is internationally renowned for its open architecture which allows for the integration of existing hardware.
Thus Genetec¡¯s clientele can benefit from IP technology and capitalize on past investments.
This open architecture permits users to choose the hardware that best fits their needs.
¡°ATEME is very proud to announce integration with the Omnicast solution.

Our partnership will without a doubt allow our companies to strengthen their presence internationally in the video surveillance market,¡± explains Thierry Tourneux, Director of the Business Video Security Unit at ATEME.
¡°ATEME, for a long time, has been known to have all necessary competencies in encoding material and video compression.
Also, the ability to integrate its products into solutions such as Omnicast proves interesting,¡± states Francis Lachance, Product Manager at Genetec.  ¡°In working with ATEME we are able to offer our clients a product that best meets their security needs. I¡¯m convinced that there will be added value to our Omnicast solution with the integration of VSIP 2.¡±
