Zandar goes exploring with second subsea intervention vessel for DMT

A FusionPro+ 3RU MultiViewer from Zandar Technologies, an innovator in the design and development of high quality multi-source video display and management solutions, has been
installed onboard the DMT EMERALD vessel for Deep Marine Technology, Inc. based in Houston, Texas, USA. System sale, design and installation was through Media Visions, Inc. of Houston.

Due to enter trials next month, the DMT EMERALD is a brand-new vessel designed to deploy both manned and un-manned ROV vehicles for oil and gas exploration primarily in the Gulf of Mexico however it can go anywhere in the world.  Measuring some 292ft in length and capable of accommodating up to 76 crew, the vessel can be used for sub-sea construction, field development works, deepwater intervention tasks, flying lead installation, and umbilical installation.
The Zandar unit will be used to display video imaging from the ROV cameras, along with status displays for sonar, pilot operations, and CCTV among other parameters.
"The client had previous experience of using a FusionPro 1RU MultiViewer in its DMT Diamond vessel so it seemed logical to adopt a similar solution for this vessel," explains Michael Hobart, Sales Manager for Media Visions.  "However, in this instance we specified the 3RU model, to allow for future upgrades and expansion."
The FusionPro+ 3RU MultiViewer is a highly modular system which can handle up to 26 scalable windows.  The system allows users to combine multiple formats simultaneously - including analog video, SDI, HD-SDI,  DVI or RGBHV computer and audio - and features easily accessible front-loading plug-in processing cards so that additional inputs can be simply added as the monitoring requirements increase.
