ICOP Digital, Inc., a company engaged in advancing digital surveillance solutions, announced that a metropolitan police department in Kansas, United States, has awarded ICOP a 12-month contract to begin equipping its patrol fleet with ICOP Model 20/20-W digital in-car video systems.
Pursuant to an initial purchase order valued at approximately $76,000, the Company has shipped ICOP Model 20/20-Ws to the department for immediate installation, and plans to equip the rest of the departments 180-car patrol fleet as funding is secured by the agency.
This important customer win for ICOP followed a competitive bidding process that began in the fall of 2007 and factored, among other considerations, comparative system features and functionalities, customer service and support, and officer feedback collected in field trials conducted by the department. Thirty-four vendors originally were invited to participate in the original Request for Proposal. The ICOP Model 20/20-W was chosen due to "ease of installation, less drain on car batteries, and lowest proposed cost along with their qualification, competence and capacity to provide the most beneficial solution for the police department."
