The combination of video security products from ATEME and Barco offer customers a complete H.264-based solution, addressing mission critical video security requirements.  SVC-2, Barco¡¯s second-generation integrated streaming video card, offers unmatched performance for the simultaneous processing of large amounts of streaming video signals in real-time with minimal latency.  The SVC-2 streaming video card is used in control room setups to visualize information streams from multiple suppliers as well as multiple compression technologies.

ATEME provides a full range of video security solutions for highways, airports, public transportation systems and urban areas.  It provides ISO 14496-2 and 14496-10 compliant encoders for transmitting audio and video over IP networks.  ATEME¡¯s video security solutions are built on the renowned MPEG-4/H.264 technology and deliver high quality video at very low bandwidths.

¡°In order to meet the growing demand for high quality video, security customers are increasingly looking at the quality and efficiency gains offered by H.264¡±, Thierry Tourneux, Director of the Video Security Business Unit at ATEME stated.  ¡°ATEME is pleased to be working with Barco in offering our customers our combined expertise in delivering high-end video security solutions¡±.

¡°The interoperability of the SVC-2 with ATEME¡¯s H.264 video compression technology demonstrates once again the flexibility and performance of Barco¡¯s streaming video decoding solutions,¡° said Steven Ooms, Market Director Traffic & Surveillance at Barco.  ¡°Also customers with existing SVC_2 solutions can now enjoy the benefits of ATEME¡¯s H.264 encoders for monitoring additional video sources, while re-using or extending their original investment in the Barco real-time control room setup.¡±
