FLIR Systems announces service contract for up to US$60.5 million from the U.S. Army

FLIR Systems, Inc. announced that it has been awarded a Performance Based Logistics (PBL) support contract for up to $60.5 million from the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, Alabama.

This contract provides for service, upgrades, and logistics support for certain U.S. Army and USMC programs. Current funding under the contract is US$45.4 million.  Including deliveries made so far this year, revenue under this contract is not expected to exceed US$15 million in 2008.

Work under this contract will be incurred over time as required in support of the installed base of Star SAFIRE(R) III and THV-3000 systems in use under these programs.

"This contract, an anticipated extension of FLIRs relationship with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps, demonstrates our capability to provide Performance Based Logistics in support of the expanding installed base of our systems in theater.  We are pleased the U.S. Army has chosen FLIR for this critically important mission," said Earl R. Lewis, President and CEO of FLIR.
