What is your biggest challenge as the newly-appointed Brazil General Manager of Rosslare?

Our biggest challenge is to strengthen our competitive power with multilayered solutions against the U.S.A., Canada, the U.K and emerging Asian countries. Access control, time & attendance, intrusion detection and CCTV businesses are booming in Brazil.

Our product lines for access control, intrusion, guard patrol and smart card solutions are far ahead of our competitors in terms of innovation, quality and cost-effectiveness, which are our tools to penetrate these existing markets. In this sense, if you want to buy a reader or a PIN +

PROX reader with an anti-vandal function, you can¡¯t find out anything but ours featuring high quality and ruggedness. This is only one example among our solutions provided in the global market. We have strong OEM partnership with industry-leading companies including Honeywell, PCSC and Assa Abloy for mutual benefits.

How do you see the Brazilian access control market this year?

Brazil¡¯s access control market has grown steadily since 1995, and biometric solutions are growing fast in the applications of high-security and time & attendance arenas. Made-in-Brazil

products featuring high quality and competitive price are exported to other countries.

We are differentiated from our rivals by providing multimedia solutions integrating all features into a single hardware, not found anywhere in the world. One of our solutions is the AC-525 VACU visual access control unit (Thunder T1). The system streams audio & video in ISO standard compliant MPEG-4 (SP) in complete synchronization with real-time access control data.

You have a wealth of knowledge with over 12 years of experience in the security field. What kind of challenges does Rosslare face?

In fact, I¡¯ve engaged in the business for 22 years. Back to 1985 when I worked for Ensec Engenharia de Sistemas Ltda in Brazil, Brazil¡¯s access control solutions were at the early stage. So we brought the first network solutions for access control, alarm supervision, perimeter and CCTV solutions from U.S.A. to apply them to our projects used for the private and state markets. The company was the first one to introduce the concept of supervised security solutions for state prisons in So Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais states, with high-tech and sophisticated equipment and software at that time. Rosslare faces a highly competitive market

situation in which it has to compete with our local manufacturers as well as global competitors in the U.S.A., Canada, the U.K., Taiwan and Korea. But we are far ahead of them in terms of our sophisticated solutions and technology, which have already been proven in the global

security market. This technological competitiveness made us one of the leading companies in Brazil security market.
