Raytheon awarded $16.3 million contract by the TSA

Raytheon Technical Services Company (RTSC) LLC, a subsidiary of Raytheon Company, has received a contract valued up to $16.3 million to provide passenger and baggage screening services at two Florida commercial airports, Key West International Airport and the Florida Keys Marathon Airport, under the Transportation Security Administrations (TSA) Screening Partnership Program (SPP).

The total period of performance is four years, four months, which begins today and ends Sept. 30, 2011. RTSC teamed with McNeil Security Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of McNeil Technologies, and the current SPP contractor at the Greater Rochester International Airport, to offer the TSA a comprehensive screening operations plan.

The plan complies with TSA airport security standard operating procedures and will address the recruiting and retention challenges in the Florida Keys.  Existing TSA Key West Federal Transportation Security Officers will be offered jobs with the Raytheon and McNeil team. The staff will be augmented by approximately 20- to 30- new hires, providing job opportunities for residents in the lower Keys. All employees will be offered a competitive compensation and benefits plan that has been designed to meet the Florida Keys cost of living requirements.  RTSC provides technology solutions for defense, federal and commercial customers worldwide. It specializes in Mission Support, counter-proliferation and counter-terrorism, homeland security solutions, base and range operations and customized engineering and manufacturing.
