MegaMatcher accelerator includes MegaMatcher multi-biometric identification technology and HP ProLiant DL server hardware that work together to provide one of the fastest matching engines available. The solution matches biometric information that may include up to 10 fingerprint templates and a face template for each individual. With fingerprint matching speeds exceeding 10 million fingerprints per second, one MegaMatcher accelerator can replace 1,000 MegaMatcher 2.1 server nodes for fingerprint matching and 25 nodes when fingerprint and face multi-biometrics are used. A single MegaMatcher accelerator unit can manage and process up to 20 million fingerprints. If additional speed or capacity is required, multiple MegaMatcher accelerator units can be combined.
"Matching speed is a critical factor for many large-scale biometric applications, such as duplicate searches in voter databases and border control, among others," said Dr. Algimantas Malickas, CEO of Neurotechnology. "MegaMatcher accelerator provides a radical increase in matching speed, enabling implementation of applications that were difficult or even impossible to implement before."
Neurotechnology is also offering a new database duplicate search service using MegaMatcher accelerator technology. Duplicate searches will be performed based on customer-collected biometric fingerprint and facial data; and a comprehensive, confidential report of all detected duplicates will be provided.
MegaMatcher is used worldwide for both civil and forensic applications, including border crossings, passport and visa documentation, election control systems, criminal investigations and duplicate searches in large-scale government and commercial databases. The MegaMatcher fingerprint recognition algorithm has received full NIST MINEX certification for use in the U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification program fingerprint recognition applications and it supports BioAPI 2.0 and most other biometric industry standards.
