Would you please start by giving our readers a brief introduction of IDTECK?

IDTECK is a leading manufacturer in the area of access control and time & attendance.  We have been developing products based on our innovative technologies of RFID (125 KHz, 13.56 MHz, 2.45GHz, 900MHz, 311MHz), biometrics (fingerprint, face, and multi-modal) and embedded OS (Linux, WIN CE).

We entered the security industry in 1989 as an importer of security products.  Since then, we have been expanding our business by developing and manufacturing various kinds of security products including hardware, software and accessories.

IDTECK manufactures a full range of RFID readers and access control systems.  Our access reader line includes biometric devices such as fingerprint readers, face readers and multimodal biometric readers that combine multiple biometric technologies into a single verification device.  We supply access control systems to leading ODMs and have a strong relationship with industry leaders including General Electric.

With cutting-edge technologies and accumulated ample know-how, IDTECK has been rolling out a wide range of security products and continuously developing into a total solutions provider with a broad and diverse line of products provided through our global distribution network spread out all over the globe (approximately 200 distributors in 70 countries).

As we enter into the second half of this year, how was your first half?  And how do you see the rest of the year?

Sales didnt show much progress in the first half compared to the previous year but they are growing steadily.  During the first half of the year, we have focused on investing in marketing to open up new markets.  We have participated in many exhibitions in South America in an attempt to expand our local presence and create more revenue.  Usually, about 2/3 of our total sales comes in during the second half of the year.  Considering the many marketing activities and on-going projects with other companies, sales are expected to triple this year.

Where does IDTECK put its focus this year, in terms of both business and technology development?  And what¡¯s your sales goal this year?

The most important thing that will be happening in 2008 is the launch of new and high specification products.

With the release of the ? ¡¯iMDC¡¯ multi-door access controller which has embedded OS system, IDTECK could build a solution which can cover larger systems.  iMDC enables us to set up various systems according to purpose and size of installation sites.

MAC1000, a stand-alone access controller, has multi-biometric technologies (face and fingerprint), RFID, DVR and door phone, and has embedded OS (WIN CE) system.  With features such as color TFT LCD, touch keypad, DVR function, voice & multi language, it gives users maximized convenience and high security, and provides simplicity for installers.  MAC1000 is aesthetically pleasing and can be part of interior.  Scheduled to be introduced to the market at the latter half of this year, MAC1000 will be the one which can meet the new market needs for products built with culture, technology and design in mind.

We are now developing a 900 Mhz long-range reader with RF245, and the new addition is expected to expand our business areas from vehicle access control to logistics.  All the products from IDTECK are developed based on IP/Web /Wireless, thus can be controlled remotely anywhere in the world.

Additionally, this year IDTECK is expanding our business to cover systems integration by not only producing access control products but also integrating them with CCTV, fire/alarm monitoring and BAS systems.

Please keep us on track of trends in access control technology.  What are some of the noticeable trends?

The future of access control and security market could be categorized into three major parts.  First, in order to increase user convenience and meet the needs of the globalized business environment, we foresee that features such as easy operation, scalability and environmental friendliness will greatly influence the design of products to come.  Second, we see the market for integrated technology and systems will grow.  Last, as the general public becomes more familiar with security products, there will be a paradigm shift in the conservative security industry toward putting more emphasis on the appearance and design of products.

What`s hot today among IDTECK products?

With its elegant design and advanced features, LX007 has generated a lot of enthusiasm and interest among the existing and potential buyers.

LX 007 is a dual function system of access control and time & attendance with the concept of luxurious and extremely comfortable.  Its graphic LCD and voice output supports multiple languages so that the system can be operated anywhere in the world.  Built with state-of-the-art technology, the system has harmonious and elegant appearance.

LX 007 can communicate with the host PC in the network configuring TCP/IP or direct connect RS232/RS485 communication.  This high-performance system is packed with versatile features and capabilities including various user-based settings, 2 men operation mode, ARM/DISARM function, anti-passback, duress mode, multilingual & voice support, etc.  LX007 is capable of storing data of up to 4,000 fingerprint users, up to 20,000 users and up to 20,000 event buffers.  All the control and management of the system can be easily performed using STARWATCH TIME PRO for time & attendance management and LX ACCESS PRO II for access control.  With the luxurious design and powerful performance combined with convenience, the controller is suitable for areas where high security and simple installation are needed.
