What are Axis¡¯ strengths in the network camera market?
Our biggest strength in the market is we are the sole global company specialized in network video. There are some other global companies competing with us. But they are doing many businesses, not concentrating only on network cameras. If there is a company only focusing on network cameras, the company might be a local company.
We have a powerful partnership strength based on mutual benefits. We don¡¯t directly sell our products to our end-users: we sell them to our distributors, the distributors sell to resellers and system integrators, the resellers and system integrators sell them to end-users. I think it is very important for us to grow together with our partners in the market. We have over 12,000 channel partners around the world and over 500 application developing partners.
Third one is our powerful leadership. More than 10 years of accumulated experience in this market, Axis has led the market with its ceaseless endeavor to develop sate-of-the-art products
and the newest technologies. We provide best solutions in terms of image quality, intelligent video and the compression technology.
You¡¯ve newly joined this company. What is the biggest challenge as Regional Director of North Asia?
I am in the moment of finding those who best fit our team to set up strong foundation for far higher growth. It is one of my big challenges to make our team more powerful.
The other challenge is education. After talking with our partners and media over the last 4 months, I found a gap between what they think about network video and what the network video really is due to the lack of information. They have high interest in network cameras and know the security surveillance market transition from analogue to network video systems. But there isn¡¯t enough information that makes them fully understand what and how to change the market. We have a great challenge as a market leader to bridge the gap with more efficient education. Axis academy will definitely narrow the gap.
We have some challenges, but I don¡¯t see them challenges but excitement to solve.
Please explain us about the market differences between Asia and Europe & North America.
Europe and North America have already experienced market transition from analogue to network cameras, while Asia market is now going through it. They¡¯ve adopted the technology earlier than Asia, and Axis was more active in North America and Europe. But I definitely see the higher potential in Asia market this year.
I have strong feeling that over the next 3 years, there will be great market transition from analogue to network video in Asia. Axis gives wholehearted support to keep up with the Asia¡¯s changing market. This is the most exciting moment for Axis.
