Coppel is one of the largest department store chains in Mexico, operating under the brand name Tiendas Coppel. The retailer specializes in the sale of household furnishings, appliances and clothing.
The rollout follows a successful digital video deployment with BanCoppel, an affiliated financial services organization operating a rapidly growing network of banking branches and automated teller machines (ATMs) within its retail locations.
Coppel will use the March Networks solution to enhance customer and staff safety, deter crime and ensure that high-quality video evidence is available for review following security incidents. The solution includes enterprise-class video management software and scalable surveillance platforms. It supports advanced applications, such as Point-of-Sale transaction data integration and video analytics, that help retailers reduce inventory shrinkage and improve overall store performance.
"We selected this solution based on our own extensive research and the recommendation of our BanCoppel colleagues, who are extremely pleased with the management capabilities and networking performance of their March Networks systems," said Agustin Bravo, National Director of Expenditure and Supply Control, Coppel.
"The March Networks retail solution, with its centralized networking architecture, will enable us to monitor our stores more effectively and provide us with quality video evidence when needed," added Antonio Saracho, Chief Information Officer and Systems Division Director, Coppel.
Peter Strom, President and CEO of March Networks, said: "We continue to expand our customer footprint in Mexico based on the high quality of our networked solutions and our focus on targeted applications for the financial and retail markets. We look forward to further successes in 2008."
