New DSP-based video encoder introduced

Geutebruck has introduced a DSP-based video encoder, CAM2IP, which has two important roles: it enables the easy integration of analogue cameras into networks, and it puts the intelligent video management where it can relieve the network most, next to the camera. It converts an existing analogue camera into an intelligent network camera which only feeds pictures into the network when they are needed and in the form they are needed, saving bandwidth and hence network costs.

Permanent or event-controlled encoding can be managed by the encoders built-in activity detection function, via TCP/IP alarm trigger from the host server, and/or directly through its alarm input.  MPEG4CCTV, Geutebrucks differential video encoding system enables CAM2IP to offer several other special strategies which boost efficiency by avoiding the generation and transmission of unnecessary data.  Using a process called dynamic live streaming, feedback from the display server enables CAM2IP to feed live pictures into the network ready-sized for the current viewing window.  The intelligent compression dynamic function uses analyzes from the activity detection or (optional) VMD software to vary the video compression according to the activity in the scene.  And, with dual channel streaming, CAM2IP can also encode two independent streams at once.
