Multi-biometric reader released

Databac Group has launched a new outdoor biometric terminal for access control and time and attendance that uses a unique combination of technologies. The new Rimax Palm Scan Outdoor combines voice recognition, palm print verification and motion detection in a single, multi-layered solution that offers unparalleled levels of security.

Palm Scan Outdoor is ideal for use in prisons, banks, airports, hospitals and military installations, as well as housing developments, golf clubs, industrial estates, car parks and other areas where security is a prime concern.

Despite employment of advanced biometric technologies, operation is remarkably simple.  The reader is activated when it detects movement within a range of 20cm. The system then plays a voice message requesting the person to say a predetermined code word, such as a name or date of birth.  The spoken code is checked and, if accepted, another message requests palm verification.  The person simply holds his/her palm up to the reader to gain entry.  The whole process takes seconds.
