3 companies teamed up to provide comprehensive digital video evidence management solution

Safety Vision, a global provider of mobile digital video solutions, has entered into a strategic teaming alliance with backend video management specialist Insight Video Net, LLC and media storage innovator Pivot3, Inc.

The three companies have joined forces to provide a streamlined, turnkey solution to the automated capture, management, and storage of recorded surveillance video.  Initially targeting the public safety sector, including the public transit and first responder communities, this technologically advanced yet cost effective solution also has immediate relevance for mobile industries as diverse as pupil transportation and mining.

Each of the three teaming partners brings a standout component to the mix—technologically sophisticated yet user friendly components that integrate seamlessly, yielding a revolutionary, industry-first solution for digital video evidence management:

Safety Vision brings to the table its road-ready suite of mobile-rated, onboard surveillance cameras and mobile digital video recorders (MDVRs), featuring its flagship RoadRecorder¢ç 6000 PRO MDVR.

Video, audio, meta-data, and system health data captured in transit by the RoadRecorder 6000 PRO is uploaded and managed by Central Management System (CMS) 3.0, the digital media content management software provided by Insight Video Net.

The content is hosted on Pivot3 High-Definition Storage based on Pivot3 RAIGE¢â (RAID Across Independent Gigabit Ethernet) technology.

The front-end to back-end joint solution, which integrates with both wired and wireless networks, provides ease of use, high scalability, and peak performance—all in a cost-effective ¡°pay as you grow¡± format.  On the scene and in the moment, encoded video and audio streams live from mobile-to-mobile unit and to mobile or fixed dispatch and command centers, offering authorities and first responders remote ¡°look in¡± capabilities in real time.  After the fact and at the home office, the captured media is easily navigable and readily accessible for efficient review and secure dissemination.

According to Safety Vision President Bruce Smith, ¡°The RoadRecorder series has been riding the roads and rails for nearly a decade, now.  It¡¯s a proven road warrior, built to withstand the rigorous conditions of the mobile environment and designed in response to our clients¡¯ evolving needs.  Already cutting edge, our mobile surveillance system is perfectly complemented by the addition of Insight Video Net¡¯s CMS and Pivot3¡¯s High-Definition Storage.  Together, we offer the first truly comprehensive, turnkey solution to the front-end collection and back-end management of digital media captured in both mobile and fixed environments.  It is the simple, affordable, reliable solution that our transit and public safety clients demand, today.¡±

Adds Insight Video Net Vice President of Sales Dave Carreon, ¡°We wanted to ease our customers¡¯ struggles with video management and evidence handling, traditionally time consuming and cost prohibitive tasks.  Now, authorized personnel can easily access and manage the data, and quickly run queries and reports for specific data sets.  And they don¡¯t need specialized technical skills to work with this system, which essentially operates as an automated and efficient electronic filing cabinet.  Ultimately, Insight Video Net¡¯s CMS software enables our customers not only to manage video but also to better manage their organizations, their operations, and their safety programs.¡±

Rounding out the solution, Pivot3 provides consolidated storage ranging from 4 to 200 terabytes, arrayed across clusters of servers.  ¡°That¡¯s our sweet spot,¡± says Pivot3 Vice President of Sales Marc Tanguay.  ¡°We can offer as little or as much storage as a customer needs. And they don¡¯t have to pay upfront for storage that they¡¯re not yet using but might grow into.¡±

Concludes Safety Vision¡¯s Smith, ¡°We are in the business of developing total mobile video solutions for our public safety and security clientele.  Those solutions must evolve rapidly to keep pace with emerging technology and diverse needs in a dynamic environment.  We focus on first identifying and then satisfying our clients¡¯ needs; if they don¡¯t fully realize what those needs are, we¡¯ll help define them.

¡°Needs differ by client, of course.  But in the industry overall, we see an overwhelming demand for risk mitigation—which our solution offers.  And we see the need for easily manageable, immediately available, and highly scalable storage as well as a demand for fault-tolerant, secure, and simple data and evidence handling.  In sync with Insight Video Net and Pivot3, we are blazing a trail for our customers—especially those who are just now coming to realize the enormity of their video capture and management needs.¡±
