Tyco to strengthen its retail loss prevention offe

Tyco Fire & Security has announced its acquisition of Retail Expert, Inc., a retail data analytics firm based in Boston, for US$14 million.

The acquisition of Retail Expert further strengthens and broadens the segments existing retail loss prevention and management offerings, which are sold by ADT Security Services and Tyco business partners around the world.

Founded in 1996, Retail Expert is a privately owned company offering software and services to retailers to enhance operational performance by collecting and analyzing data that can help limit losses and improve overall efficiency. The companys software solutions in the areas of loss prevention, vendor management, refund management, pharmacy inventory and shortage, case management and inventory control will expand ADT? existing retail offerings that consist of loss prevention and security technologies including Sensormatic¨Þ electronic article surveillance, Sensormatic¨Þ SmartEAS¨Þ, and ADT intrusion and life safety solutions.
