The resignation was effective immediately.

Admiral Blair joined Tyco¡¯s board of directors in 2003 and previously served as president and chief executive officer of The Institute for Defense Analyses, a federally funded research and development center. Admiral Blair retired as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Pacific Command in 2002, after more than 34 years of service in the United States Navy.
