Basler Vision Technologies enters the IP camera market

Basler AG, one of the worlds leading machine vision companies, is entering the IP camera market.

At the IFSEC 2008 in Birmingham, the company will present an innovative IP camera series for the surveillance market.  Based in Ahrensburg, Germany, Basler has more than 20 years of experience in the industrial machine vision market.  The company has developed and produced digital cameras for industrial, medical, and traffic system applications for over 10 years.  The Basler brand is world famous for products that are easy to use, are easy to integrate, and have excellent image quality and high reliability.

Basler¡¯s IP camera products are characterized by extremely high image quality.  They are compact (89.2 mm x 44 mm x 29 mm), robust, and powerful.  These high resolution cameras feature state-of-the-art compression algorithms (MJPEG, MPEG, H.264), which can be used simultaneously via a ¡°multiple streaming¡± capability.  A wide range of additional features enables fast, flexible integration into a variety of applications.

According to Hardy Mehl, Director of Marketing and New Business, ¡°We have observed the IP camera market for several years and noticed that this growing market has attracted some new suppliers.  Usually, they come with a network engineering background or from the analog video market.  Many IP camera customers welcome the advantages of network technology, but are not satisfied with the image quality and reliability of current digital camera products.  Basler wants to close this gap.  We applied a core competence gained through 10 years of experience in digital camera technology to our new IP camera range.  During the development process, we stayed in close contact with well-known security companies to make sure that we fully meet the specific needs and requirements of this market.¡±  Basler IP products can be purchased worldwide from our professional, well-trained partner companies.

Visitors to the IFSEC 2008 can expect Basler to present the new IP camera product range.
